At the beginning of the meeting Dmitry Medvedev said that he is happy to meet again with Mr. Vlad Filat, as the echo of their previous meeting that they had recently in Moscow is still alive.
"It's a good sign, because friends and partners must see each other to discuss problems and successes," said Russian Prime Minister.
Dmitry MEDVEVEV proposed that the discussion focuses on the indications given by him and by Vlad Filat to their colleagues in the Governments in terms of energy cooperation, and other issues of common interest.
Vlad Filat said that for the Republic of Moldova considers it important that discussions lead to solutions to existing problems, but also important in determining future plans.
"I am convinced that we are able to solve problems and I look forward with trust to the prospects of our relations," Filat said.
During the meeting, which was a logical continuation of the recent meeting in Moscow of the two heads of executives, Vlad Filat and Dmitry Medvedev discussed a number of subjects relating to the current state and prospects of further development of bilateral Moldo-Russian relations. They also examined issues related to the desired increase of economic cooperation and to negotiations of an intergovernmental agreement on energy and natural gas supplies, as well as issues of access of Moldovan wines on the Russian market. The parties agreed that a third terminal will be opened at Bryansk customs in the near future.
Both Prime Ministers noted the important role of Moldovan-Russian intergovernmental commission for economic cooperation in the development of economic cooperation and expressed their believes that the thirteenth session of the Commission concerned and of the Moldovan-Russian Businessmen Forum which will take place in Chisinau on 15-16 November 2012, will create a favorable background for solving problems that still persist in the economy.
The parties also exchanged views on humanitarian cooperation.
