Venezuela & the "precedent" at UN - could it perhaps be a zero-sum game for Macedonia's case & influence. #RFE writes "Pompeo To Urge UN Security Council To Recognize Venezuela's Guaido". While this is no longer an internal affair of Venezuela due to mass migration & impact on the region & I am glad things are moving in the, hopefully, right direction, there is one matter - a possible misuse of this as a "precedent".
Per se, if Venezuela's case is discussed at UNSC & even an electoral + development/support mission is discussed now (or later!), there still may be a disagreement, as we saw up to now.
Where the problem arises is with Russia's objections. In the Security Council it might try:
a. obstructing US initiative
b. or later misuse the "interference in internal affairs by US etc" in Venezuela's case for its play, most probably in Macedonia. Russia recently threatened to raise the issue of the UN mediated agreement for that country at UNSC. Somewhat a combination of both UN, bilateral & internal affairs. It may play a zero-sum game on these 2 matters (Venezuela & Macedonia). Though it is a speculation, I'd predict, based on previous Bosnia & Kosovo developmenrs, that Kremlin might try to use it.
